What did you play the last few days? On Steam, a lot of players have evidently decided for two fresh shooters: Splitgate and Back 4 Blood jumped on the weekend in the top 10 on Steam.
These games are: In the course of the weekend, two games could be convinced, which are currently still in the beta and are not yet fully published. This is the one to:
- The Portal Shooter Splitgate, who last ran so well that the servers smoked him.
- And the new beta to back 4 Blood, the spiritual successor of the LEFT-4-Dead series.
Both games were able to secure a place in the Top 10 of Steam Charts at the weekend (Via PC Gamer).
So the first beta phase for back 4 Blood ran
This is how the numbers look at back 4 Blood: Back 4 Blood collected already players during his first ear-access beta (via Steam DB).
- On Friday, the 06th of August, the peak was over 88,000 players.
- On Saturday it even reached 98,024 players - maximum.
- Sunday moved again with around 81,000 players in Peak.
On Monday evening, the 09th of August at 21:00 end ends this first early access beta. The next chance to look into the game results between the 12th and 16th August - then starts an open beta for which you do not need a key. Completely the game will appear on October 12, 2021.
Corthyn by Meinmmo also looked at the weekend, according to the first alpha doubts, into the back-4-blood beta. However, the beta version made so much correct that back 4 Blood may even have the potential for the co-op game of the year for CORTYN. You can read your impression on the back-4-blood beta here.
What is that for a game? In Back 4 Blood you can put up to four players of a zombie threat. It offers a co-op campaign that needs to handle it together. You can choose from 8 characters, each bringing very own skills. There is also a PVP mode.

SplitGate continues to collect players
So see the numbers from Splitgate: Also with Splitgate plenty of players gathered on weekends - alone on Steam.
- On Friday the peak was about 63,000 players
- Saturday it was a little less with about 60,000
- On Sunday it then moved 67,724 players on Steam to Splitgate - previous record for the portal shooter alone on Steam.
This is the situation at SPLITGATE: Splitgate is originally located since 2019 in the Early Access, but on July 13, the Open Beta for PlayStation, Xbox and PC (Steam) brought on July 13th. The console release was accompanied by an unexpected popularity jump, which brought the server structure of the developers to their limits. The Splitgate release originally planned for the 27th of July had to be postponed so that the conditions can be adapted to the larger games.
In the meantime, it had been given queues over 90 minutes for players who wanted to test Splitgate. Since then, however, improvements have been made, as the official Twitter channel reported (via Twitter). This seemed obviously noticeable on the weekend. Currently it is valued at Steam as a whole "very positive" (via Steam).
What is that for a game? Splitgate is a free multiplayer shooter of the Indie developer 1047 games, which was compared to the Halo series or Unreal Tournament from the approach.
You can fight in different arenas that offer a special clou: you can use portals through which you can jump from place to place. Alternatively, you can also fire through a portal and so on a completely different location of the Map enemies with balls.
If you want to try SPLITGATE, you can do the platform across the platform, the beta is still open. It is definitely one of the games that Meinmmo recommends in August 2021.
